Rapids
France
These cascading rapids on the Dranse River show a different personality than the smooth turquoise bend or the dramatic slot gorge. Here the water is alive with energy—leaping over rocks, creating multiple small waterfalls, that glacial blue contrasting with dark moss-covered stones. Long exposure smooths the chaos into silky flow while keeping the rocks sharp. Every section of this river told a different story, and I stayed long enough to capture all of them.
