Most people think of brown bears catching salmon, but they're opportunistic foragers. At Lake Clark National Park, when the tide goes out, these coastal giants walk the exposed flats digging for clams—protein-rich food that sustains them between salmon runs. This bear was completely focused on foraging, oblivious to everything else. That silhouette against the moody sky, the rim light catching every strand of wet fur, the sparkling bokeh from the wet beach—black and white captures the raw power and focus of this moment.
